Is the green job czar wilting?

Over the past couple of weeks, many of us have learned quite a bit about green jobs czar and self-avowed communist Van Jones.

While most of the extremely radical beliefs of the green jobs czar have been dismissed by the mainstream media, at least one drive-by did decide to pick up on the fact that Jones’ name appeared on a 2004 petition blaming the Bush administration for allowing 9/11 to occur.

Of course, Jones came out and said that he a.) wasn’t aware of what he was signing and/or b.) no longer feels that way. But today, ABC News Senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper is reporting Jones was also on the organizing committee for the San Francisco March to Demand Congressional Inquiry of 911, as well.

(Yep – there’s his name – and what do you know?Someone from STORM is on the committee, too. How convenient.)

Maybe he didn’t realize what it was he was organizing: “Committee? What committee? How did I get here?”

Maybe he has changed his mind – the committee was formed way, way, way back in 2002.

Has he changed his mind since giving a 2008 interview to Uprising Radio? Is that ancient history as well? Surely, with all that time that’s passed between then and now, his desire to be a radical kernel planter is outdated – and surely he was kidding when he said he sees the green economy as one that “will start off as a small subset, and we’re gonna push it and push it and push it until it becomes the engine for transforming the whole society.”

Does he still believe what he said at the Power Shift ‘09 Conference?

“This movement is deeper than a solar panel. Deeper than a solar panel. Don’t stop there. Don’t stop there. No, we’re going to change the whole system. We’re going to change the whole thing. We’re not going to put a new battery in a broken system. We want a new system. We want a new system.”

Of course, the conference was held all of six months ago. Anything can happen in six months, right? According to Jones, yes.

“But sometimes,” Jones said in February of this year, “what should have taken another 20 years, Barack Hussein Obama, can take a season.”

Wake up, America.
