Rush to judgment

Twenty-four hours after the killings at Fort Hood Army Post, the president made a statement to the media. “We don’t know all the answers yet,” Obama told reporters, “and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.”

The statement is a far cry from the one he made in July, when he claimed not to “know all the facts,” but went on to speak with ease and apparently some magical inner feeling that the Cambridge police had acted “stupidly” in the arrest of his friend, Skip Gates.

Just for the record, let’s take a look at Thursday’s horrific attack against American soldiers. Thirteen dead and 29 soldiers or civilians wounded at the hands of a radical extremist. Wait – a Islamic extremist. I will not name him, nor will I post a photo. As far as I’m concerned, he deserves no mention by name.

MSM seems to look at this a bit differently. His name name isn’t a problem for them. It’s that two-word combination – Islamic extremist – that seems to have them walking on glass. Why would that be?

As we further list what we do know, we know he had a 357 Magnum and a semi-automatic which ultimately assisted him in firing more than 100 rounds during his reign of terror.

We have learned that witnesses and victims on the scene heard his last words before opening fire: “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great). It’s the typical mode of operation: Praise Allah, then kill as many people as possible before being killed.

We also know that a terrorist attack doesn’t occur every time Allahu Akbar is spoken. But we do know that those words are spoken before a terrorist commits his deadly acts. We know that every Muslim is not a terrorist. But we also know that those who proudly proclaim to be terrorists are Muslim/Islamic extremists.

We’ve also learned the terrorist who opened fire at Fort Hood justified suicide bombings and was apparently disciplined for pushing his religion on patients. So I don’t think any of us are jumping to conclusions as much as we’re looking at a preponderance of evidence.

As we also know, the terrorist in the Fort Hood massacre is, at least at this point, still alive, so it looks like he’ll need to wait a while to collect his martyr badge and virgins.

It also looks like Obama missed a golden opportunity to fill his role as commander-in-chief. Instead, he chose to victimize the perpetrator and stand yet again as someone who sides with all the other guys – not America.
