Open Christmas letter to U.S. Senators

We are five days away from the most wonderful day of the year, yet Americans across this great Republic sit on their computers, or at the phones or fax machines, notifying every Senator possible in an effort to stop the government take-over of health care, which stands to send all Americans (except, of course, Senators and Congressmen) on the road to serfdom in quick order. I know because I’m one of them. One who, in the midst of celebrating the birth of Christ, stands in full realization that I can’t quite celebrate. Because as the holiday season is in full force, so too, apparently, is the desire of the Senate to seal the wrapping on the worst possible gift that Americans could ever receive.

According to the CBO, this bill will tax and penalize Americans to the poor house (at the tune of more than $500 billion), and all of you know it. It will ration what is currently the best health care in the world. It will cut Medicare by more than $400 billion. It will decrease American ingenuity and discovery in the medical field. And I am only scratching the surface.

This is not change we can believe in. This is a radical chain to redistribution of wealth, a fast track to socialism and the ultimate destruction of a free Republic.

What is so strange to me is that all of you are either aware of this fact, choosing to pass this monstrosity regardless, or clueless as to what you are about to do. Should the latter be the case, keep in mind there is no excuse for ignorance.

It is your responsibility as servants of the American people to hear our voices – to reform the health care system through methods that empower Americans, such as tort reform and opening state borders so that individuals may purchase whatever plan they choose, regardless of the state in which they reside. The answer is not, and rarely is, more government regulation, much less an outright take-over.

In case there is any question, the majority of Americans are well aware of the evil web of deceit being woven on the nation’s capitol. The majority of Americans are opposed to any form of health care reform in these current bills and amendments written behind closed doors. Americans realize that you haven’t even read the full bill, much less allowed the public to view it for 72 hours before voting in favor of destroying our nation. We realize that what you say to We the People is not what you do.

The American people realize that this death plan for our nation will not be implemented for at least another three or four years, although the taxation begins almost immediately.

You have turned your backs on those you represent – going against the will of an ever-growing majority of Americans. That is the definition of tyranny.

Should you choose to go forward with this debacle, realize that history will judge you, as will we. We, the American people, are not going away. We will not rest today or on Christmas Eve. We will not rest in the days that follow. We have picked up where our founding fathers left off, and will not falter until our Republic has been restored. We are ready to defend liberty and the Republic at all costs.

It is time for you to pick the side of history on which you will stand – time to end the game of politicians and arise as statesmen, if there are any among you.
