At the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Benjamin Franklin said that the work of our founding fathers had given us a Republic… “if [we] could keep it.” More than 200 years after those words were spoken, one could view his words as prophetic at the least. As well, they must come as a wake-up, [...] I’m not much of a technical person, so the process of moving from my original Wordpress blog to this website has been a very slow one, indeed. Almost as slow as the time it seemed to take to make a video/slideshow with all of the 9/12 March photos I took. My second attempt at videography [...] I realize there are so many people who’ve already posted photos. Call me fashionably late, but it’ll be worth the wait. I made the decision at some point on Friday that we would enjoy the company of the men and women from all across the United States for 48 hours. No blogging, emailing or Facebooking [...] If you haven’t already done so, make plans now to get to Central Park in Louisville, KY, this Saturday, Sept. 5, when the Tea Party Express will make a stop as it continues spreading the message of freedom. The Express kicked off its 16-day tour on Friday, Aug. 28 in Sacramento, CA, and will make 33 [...] The words of the school secretary caught me a little off guard yesterday when I stopped to get an “Educational Enhancement Opportunity” form. Without the form, my 8-year-old would get big fat unexcused absences on the 10th and 11th of September. “We’ll let you know if it’s been approved as soon as possible,” she said. [...] I am a horrible judge of distance. OK – I know a Klick is 1,000 meters or Grounds of Frankfort Capitol about 6/10ths of a mile. But could I say from here to there is a Klick? Hardly. I continue to be inspired by his courage, faith and dedication to the cause of liberty. On the eve of Independence Day, may his video inspire you to new heights tomorrow! As we celebrate America’s independence on Saturday, citizens will be gathering across the country to protest an out-of-control government steeped in reckless spending, lack of common sense and general disregard for the citizens they took an oath to represent.
